UofL BASKETBALL | Cards' Winning Streak Snapped

The Louisville men’s basketball team continued its recent road trend of being involved in down-to-the-wire finishes.

The result though Wednesday night did not come out their way.

Miami (FL) (15-5, 4-3) snapped the Cards’ four-game winning streak, topping UofL (15-5, 5-2) in an overtime thriller. The Hurricanes won 78-75.

Three of the last four UofL road games have needed at least one overtime period to determine a winner. Louisville is 1-2 in those games, beating Notre Dame, but losing to both No. 25 Clemson and Miami (FL).

Louisville struggled in the overtime period on Wednesday against Miami (FL), as it did not make a field goal in OT. All of UofL’s six points in OT came from the free throw line.

The free throw line was actually a struggle for the Cards, as they only went 16-of-25 (64.0%) from the charity stripe during the game.

Miami (FL) guard Lonnie Walker IV led all scorers with a game-high 25 points.

Meanwhile, UofL was led by guard Quentin Snider’s 18 points.

Up next for Louisville is a home game Saturday night against Wake Forest (8-12, 1-7). Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. ET inside the KFC Yum! Center.
