The Louisville men’s basketball team is moving on to the second round of the 2018 NIT.

The Cards (21-13) beat Northern Kentucky (22-10) by the final score of 66-58 on Tuesday night inside the KFC Yum! Center.

Louisville’s Deng Adel led all scorers with 20 points. Ryan McMahon was the only other Cardinal who scored in double-digits, as he finished the game with 10 points.

Darius Perry added 8 points for UofL, which included two points from a powerful dunk he had late in the third quarter. In fact, it was that dunk that gave UofL the lead for good.

NKU was led by Drew McDonald’s double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds.

Up next for UofL will be a home game against Middle Tennessee St.
