UofL BASKETBALL | Cards keep alive ACC Title hopes with a late run

The 11th ranked Louisville Cardinals got hot at the perfect time, making their last nine shots from the field. The Cards rallied in the final five minutes to defeat Pittsburgh 67-60. It is the eighth straight victory for the Cards over the Panthers.
Tied at 58, UofL went on an 8-oh run to grab their biggest lead of the game, and in fact finished the contest on a 9-2 spurt. Quentin Snider came off the bench to put in a team high 14 points, with seven assists. Damion Lee had 13, while Deng Adel had 12 points and seven rebounds. Pitt’s Ryan Luther led all scorers with 17.
The victory keeps alive Louisville’s dream of winning the ACC Regular season title. The Cards improve to 22-6, 11-4 in the conference, but remain a game behind first place North Carolina. The Tar Heels defeated rival NC State 80-68 Wednesday night, improving to 12-3 in the league, 23-5 overall. Pitt, by the way falls to 19-8, 8-7 in the ACC.
Louisville got production from a couple unexpected sources.. Back up Guard David Levitch played 16 minutes, scoring eight points, while reserve center Matz Stockman played nne minutes and snagged three rebounds.
Louisville’s next game is Saturday afternoon at Miami. The 12th ranked Hurricanes are also 11-4 in the league, so Saturday’s loser is pretty much out of contention. The regular season title is all Louisville has left to play for because of their self imposed post season ban.
