UofL BASKETBALL | Cards hit triple digits in win over Texas Southern

Rick Pitino and every one of his players in the locker room agreed that the final score in their win over Texas Southern did not reflect how close the game truly was. But the final score does say that U of L’s offense is trending the right direction. No. 11 Louisville picked up its fourth win in a row, beating the Tigers 102-71.
Six Cardinals scored in double figures, led by junior point guard Quentin Snider who finished with 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists. The Cardinal bench contributed 43 points. Freshman wing VJ king ended with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting. 13 is his third highest point total of the season.
Texas Southern kept the game close into the second half, trailing by as few as nine. Even in the loss, Texas Southern big man Derrick Griffin had one of the most impressive individual performances of the year. The redshirt sophomore pulled in 26 rebounds, which is more than any other Division-I player has had in a single game this season.
This game also marked an important milestone for Louisville head coach Rick Pitino. The victory marked his 400th win at U of L, giving him a record of 400-163 as the Cardinals coach.
Louisville is now 9-1 on the season, but still working to prepare for one of the toughest stretches in basketball this season. The next game for Louisville is Saturday Dec. 17 when they take on Eastern Kentucky in the Billy Minardi Classic.
