UofL BASKETBALL | Bowen Will Not Play at Louisville

UofL five-star men’s basketball recruit Brian Bowen will not play basketball at Louisville.

Bowen “may remain on scholarship but will not be allowed to practice or compete,” according to the UofL men’s basketball program’s Twitter account.

Bowen’s name has been at the center of an ongoing investigation into the UofL men’s basketball recruiting scandal.

“Brian has been a responsible young man for the institution since he enrolled,” said UofL Interim Athletic Director Vince Tyra. “He has endeared himself to his teammates and the men’s basketball staff with a positive attitude during a very difficult period.”

Earlier this month, Spectrum News confirmed that Bowen was enrolled in spring classes at UofL.

The school informed Bowen that it will provide him written permission to contact another school if he wishes to transfer.
