Nick Sciortino singled with one out in the bottom of the ninth, scoring Jake Alu with the game winning run, as Boston College beat Louisville for a second straight day, 2-1 was today’s final. The Cards will try to avoid the three game sweep in Chestnut Hill Sunday.

Third ranked Louisville grabbed the lead first in the fifth on a Danny Rosenbaum solo home run, but the Eagles tied things in the seventh on a Jake Palomaki RBI single, setting the stage for the ninth inning.

Reliever Zack Burdi struggled in the final frame, giving up three hits in the inning. Burdi’s record falls to 1-2 while BC pitcher Bobby Skogsbergh evens his record at 1-1.

This is just the second time all season the Cards have dropped two straight games. They’ll try to avoid their first three game slide tomorrow, starting at noon. Louisville’s record falls to 30-9, 13-7 in the ACC, while the Eagles, who started this series in the Atlantic Division Basement, improve to 21-14, and 7-11.
