In a back and forth game with the no. 7 ranked Clemson Tigers, the no. 2 ranked Louisville baseball team grinded out a win on the road Sunday afternoon, extending the team winning streak to 15 games.

Nick Bennett started on the mound for Louisville, striking out seven Clemson batters and allowing only two earned runs in over six innings of work. Lincoln Henzman finished the game for the Cards, earning his 16th save of the season, and helping complete the sweep over the Tigers.

The two ACC powerhouses exchanged runs throughout the entire game. Clemson led 2-1 after the first, but U of L answered with two runs in the second. The Tigers evened the score at the score a three apiece in the third inning. Ryan Summers scored the final go-ahead run of the game in the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly from catcher Colby Fitch.

Logan Taylor was the leading hitter for U of L. He finished 2-for-4 from the plate with a run scored. Third baseman Drew Ellis knocked his 15th home run of the season, second of the weekend, and tied Brendan McKay for the team lead this season.

The win puts Louisville at 46-6 overall, 23-4 in the ACC. The 46 wins ties a school record for wins in the regular season, and it is the fourth time since 2010 the team has accomplished that feat. The series has also helped Louisville clinch the ACC Atlantic Division championship for the third straight year.

The Cards now head to Indiana for a Tuesday night game, before returning home for the final series of the regular season against Florida State.
