04/22/2016 07:38 PM
The six game winning streak for third ranked Louisville is over. Lowly Boston College never trailed, and defeated the Cardinals Friday afternoon 6-1. Eagles pitcher Jacob Stevens allowed just one run through seven innings, improving his record to 3-2, while Brendan McKay saw his record slide to 7-2.
McKay was roughed up for four runs in just five innings of work. Tied at 1 in the third, Johnny Adams delivered a two run hit, part of a three run inning, and BC never looked back. Louisville had chances, but could never get a timely hit, going just 2 for 9 with runners in scoring position.
The loss drops UofL to 30-8, 13-6 in the ACC while Boston College improves to 20-14, 6-11 in conference. The Cards will try again Saturday at 1:30pm. The series finale is Sunday at noon.
