UofL BASEBALL | Cards win game and series at North Carolina

Corey Ray once again proved why he is a potential first round draft choice. The outfielder, who is batting .329, had three hits and drove in three runs as Louisville beat North Carolina on Sunday 10-6. The victory gives the Cards the series. In fact it’s the first time all season Louisville has won two of three games at an opponent’s ballpark. The Cards were victorious Friday 6-0, but lost in 10 innings Saturday 3-2.
Senior pitcher Kyle Funkhouser allowed four runs in six innings of work, but his offense gave him enough support to get the righthander his third straight win. Funkhouser is now 6-3 on the season, and has a school record 32 victories in his college career.
The victory improves UofL to 38-10 overall, 16-8 in the ACC, while UNC falls to 30-17, and 10-14 in the league.
Next up is a major showdown for the fifth ranked Cards who play at number six Vanderbilt Tuesday Night at 7pm ET/6 CT in a game televised on the SEC Network. The upcoming game will go a long way in showing Cards Head Coach Dan McDonnell where his team stacks up, since Vanderbilt is the type of opponent Louisville can expect to play in either the NCAA Regionals, or if they are fortunate enough to advance, the Super Regionals.
