The Louisville baseball team won its first pool-play match-up of the 2018 ACC Baseball Championship on Wednesday.

The No. 5-seeded Cards (41-16) beat No. 4-seeded Wake Forest (25-31) at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, N.C. The final score was 10-2.

Louisville center fielder Josh Stowers went 3-4 at the plate in the contest, which included a home run, a triple, a double and six RBI.

UofL’s next pool-play match-up is set for Thursday at 11 a.m. ET against No. 4-seeded Duke (39-14).

If the Cardinals beat Duke, they would clinch a spot in this weekend’s ACC Baseball Championship single-elimination bracket.
