UofL BASEBALL | Cards drop their first game of 2016

02/26/2016 08:56 PM

The 2nd ranked Louisville Cardinals lost their first baseball game of 2016, dropping one at Ole Miss 6-5. The Cards never had the lead as pitcher Kyle Funkhouser put UofL in a big hole. The Righty gave up six runs in just 3.2 innings, including a four-spot to the Rebels in the 4th inning.

Louisville clawed it’s way back into the game, but could never get over the hump, stranding Corey Ray at second in the 8th inning, and leaving the potential tying run on base in the ninth.

The loss drops Louisville to 4-1 while Mississippi improves to 5-0. The two teams meet again today in Oxford, MS with the first pitch being thrown at 2:30pm ET. You can watch the game online on the ESPN App.
