03/11/2018 03:32 PM

The Louisville Cardinals may have still won their three-game series this weekend, but they are not leaving the weekend with an undefeated overall record.

The No. 8 Cards (14-1, 2-1) dropped its first game of the year on Sunday afternoon, falling 10-3 to the No. 13 North Carolina Tar Heels (8-7, 1-2) inside Jim Patterson Stadium.

The Cards were leading 3-2 heading into the seventh inning, before the Tar Heels scored eight runs combined in both the seventh and eighth innings.

Louisville will hope to bounce back on Tuesday when it hosts No. 4 Texas Tech at 3 p.m. ET.
