On the final day of the regular season, the No. 4 Cardinals swept the series, 9-4, in a weekend finale at Wake Forest on Saturday.

Louisville started out slow, finally making the board in the top of the third thanks to Corey Ray on a bunt single by Will Smith.

The Cardinals then tied the game in the fourth, 3-3, on a 2-run home run by Danny Rosenbaum. After two scoreless innings in the fifth and sixth, a 3-run home run in the seventh inning by Brendan McKay pushed Louisville ahead.

Funkhouser got the win giving up 3 runs in 7 innings and recording 10 strikeouts. It was his fifth straight win.

The Louisville Cardinals now look ahead to the ACC Tournament, which begins on Tuesday in Durham, North Carolina.
