UofL BASEBALL | Cardinals ready to "run towards the roar"

It’s hard to believe that baseball season is right around the corner, and it’s just over three weeks until the University of Louisville baseball team takes the field for its first game.

The Cards have their first official practice on Friday, featuring an open scrimmage inside Jim Patterson Stadium.

The team has very high expectations this season, and were recently ranked eighth in country according to the USA Today preseason poll. We caught up with Louisville head coach Dan McDonnell before the season gets underway, and he talked about how exciting this time of year is for him.

Garrett Moore

Garrett is a Sports Producer for Spectrum News. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State and got his start as a sports photographer. He now produces Sports Night, the state’s only nightly show dedicated to in-depth coverage of all sports in Kentucky. Sports Night airs weeknights at 6:30 and 10:30 on Spectrum News. Outside the station, Garrett enjoys golfing, hiking, fishing, and prides himself on being all-in as a sports spectator.
