UofL ATHLETICS | Impact of Major Changes Going Forward

It’s been a busy week or so for the UofL Athletic Department.

Last week, the University learned of a link the men’s basketball program had to an ongoing federal investigation into fraud and corruption into college basketball.

Amid the fallout, UofL interim president Dr. Greg Postel placed head men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino on unpaid administrative leave. (Since then, the UofL Athletic Association Board has started the process of firing Pitino.) Also, impacted was athletic director Tom Jurich, who was placed on paid administrative leave.

Since then, UofL assistant men’s basketball coach David Padgett was named acting head coach and Vince Tyra was named acting athletic director.

ESPN Louisville’s Jason Anderson joined Sports Night on Wednesday to discuss all the uncertainty surrounding Louisville athletics. He talked about what David Padgett must do first now that he’s in the acting head coach position:
