Two EKU Guards Earn Top Honors...But Not For Rapping

As the OVC ended their regular season play over the weekend, two EKU players picked up some individual honors. Junior Guard Corey Walden was named the OVC Defensive Player of the Year. Walden is known as a lock down defender, who normally draws the assignment of defending the opponent’s best player. He helped EKU lead the OVC in scoring defense this year. Corey was also second in the OVC with 62 steals overall. EKU, as a team, is ranked 5th in the nation in steals with 262.

Glenn Cosey also received post-regular-season honors. He was named to the 1st Team All-OVC. Cosey averaged 18 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds for the Colonels this season. He led the conference in three-pointers made and is second in assists-to-turnover ratio, third in free throw shooting, fourth in scoring, fourth in three-point shooting and eighth in assists. Whew! But, according to Head Coach Jeff Neubauer, there is one thing that the do-it-all senior is NOT so good at.
