UPDATE 5:00 p.m. During a late afternoon press conference today, Tiger Woods announced to reporters that he will play in this week’s PGA Championship.

Woods had just completed playing nine holes during a practice round at Valhalla after arriving at the golf club around 1 p.m. today. Woods told reporters he is pain-free.

When asked if he feels he can win the tournament, Woods replied, “Yes.”

UPDATE 3:36 p.m. After much uncertainty and anticipation, Tiger Woods arrived at Valhalla in Louisville today with intentions to play in this week’s PGA Championship.

Woods will speak to media immediately after practice and is expected to address the back injury that led to him pulling out of last week’s WGC Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio. While it is unlikely he would have traveled to Louisville to follow through with practice if he did not intend to compete, he has until the first tee time on Thursday morning to make his final decision.
