Throwback Thursday to current Cardinals who have played in the Derby Festival Basketball Classic

The longest running high school all-star game in the country picks back up on Friday night in Louisville. The Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic has a long-standing tradition of including future UofL and UK basketball players. Last year, the Classic featured four future Cardinals, so we made a little throwback montage of Donovan Mitchell, Deng Adel, Ray Spalding, and Ryan McMahon showcasing their skills before they put on a Louisville jersey…oh and we threw in an extra throwback to 2014 on the end.

Garrett Moore

Garrett is a Sports Producer for Spectrum News. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State and got his start as a sports photographer. He now produces Sports Night, the state’s only nightly show dedicated to in-depth coverage of all sports in Kentucky. Sports Night airs weeknights at 6:30 and 10:30 on Spectrum News. Outside the station, Garrett enjoys golfing, hiking, fishing, and prides himself on being all-in as a sports spectator. He won a gift card for playing an air guitar in the student section during an MTSU basketball game.
