Louisville native and NFL Star William “Bubba” Paris presented a NFL Golden Football to DeSales High School Tuesday afternoon.
Paris, a 1978 graduate of DeSales presented the award, a commemorative Wilson Golden football, as part of the NFL’s Super Bowl High School Honor Roll. The initiative recognizes schools and communities that have positively contributed to the history of the Super Bowl and the game of football.
For DeSales High School, Paris is that contribution.
Paris is a Louisville native, who went on to play college ball at the University of Michigan, where he earned All-American and Academic honors. He was then drafted in 1982 by the San Francisco 49ers where he would play the majority of his professional career and earn his three Super Bowl victories.
Paris now works as a commentator for Fox Sports and as a motivational speaker.
After presentation, and a groundbreaking ceremony for new facilities on DeSales’ campus, Paris talked about how happy he is to still be involved with the school where he got his start.
