Louisville’s Russ Smith was named one of 15 finalists for the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Year Trophy. So far this season, the senior guard is averaging 17.5 points and 4.5 assists per game.

Smith is the fourth player in UofL program history with at least 1,700 career points, 300 assists and 200 steals. Going into tonight’s game against Temple, Russ needs just 16 points to move up to ninth in career scoring in the Louisville record books.

Below is a full list of the finalists. One other note: UK’s Julius Randle, Kansas’s Andrew Wiggins, Duke’s Jabari Parker and Syracuse’s Tyler Ennis are up for both the Oscar Robertson Trophy and the Wayman Tisdale Freshman of the Year Award.
