Bobby Petrino picked up a letter of intent from quarterback Pat Thomas yesterday, who plans to enroll at UL next month. Thomas spent last season at Georgia Military College where he threw for for 1,695 yards and 17 touchdowns and rushed for 199 yards and 2 scores. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.

The 6’4 185 lbs quarterback is currently rated as a 2 star prospect by 247 sports and was garnering some interest from former UL head coach Charlie Strong who is now at Texas before being offered a scholarship from UL.

With the addition of the dual threat Thomas, Coach Petrino should have his hands full this fall in determining Teddy’s replacement. Sophomore Will Gardner seems to be the one to beat but received early competition this spring from both Kyle Bolin and senior transfer Brett Nelson.
