OLYMPICS | Kelsi Worrell is Headed To Rio

Kelsi Worrell won the 100M Butterfly Finals Monday night at the Olympic Trials to secure her spot on the team that will compete in the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro.

With the victory Worrell posted the second fastest time this year in the world, and the fifth fastest time ever, at 56.48 seconds. 2012 Gold Medal Winner Dana Vollmer finished second behind Worrell to also secure a trip to Rio.

Vollmer holds the American record for fastest time in the 100m butterfly with 55.98 seconds. The World record is held by Sweden’s Sarah Sjostrom at 55.64 seconds.

The Olympics start August 5th and run through August 21st.
