Oh what a difference 8 days makes for the Cardinals

Last weekend the Cardinals and their fans were pretty depressed after Duke came into the YUM Center and took care of UofL, but now, what a difference eight days makes. Terry Rozier scored a game high 26 points, as 10th ranked Louisville led most of the way, and, on the road, beat Pittsburgh 80-68. It’s even more impressive since the Panthers had only lost to one, top-10 opponent in the Petersen Events Center, before today.

The Cards had their shooting shoes on, hitting better than 65 per cent of their shots. Rozier’s back court mate Chris Jones poured in 17 while big man Montrezl Harrell had 18 points and 7 rebounds. Mangok Mathiang finished with 11 points and backup guard Anton Gill had 10. So, counting Quentin Snider, UofL guards accounted for 55 of the Cardinals 80 points.

With the win, Louisville improves to 16-3 overall, 4-2 in the ACC while Pitt falls to 13-7 overall, and 3-4 in the conference. UofL stays on the road and next plays at Boston College Wednesday at 9pm. The Eagles (9-9, 1-5 in ACC) won their first ACC game on Sunday, winning at Georgia Tech 64-62.
