Now the Commonwealth has 3 teams in the NCAA Field

03/15/2014 08:29 PM

With Louisville’s 71-61 victory over Connecticut, the Cards are not only inaugural AAC Champions, but also back in the NCAA Tournament for the 40th time. In fact the Commonwealth is assured of three teams in the Big Dance. Joining Louisville will be Ohio Valley Conference Champions Eastern Kentucky, and of course the Kentucky Wildcats. They play top ranked Florida Sunday for the SEC Championship.

Where Louisville plays is still up in the air. Most Bracketologists have the Cardinals as a 3 seed and headed to San Diego. However by blowing through the AAC Tourney, winning every game by double digits, the Cards could climb to a higher seed and play in a closer location. All will be revealed Sunday at 6pm Eastern. Then an hour later at 7pm ET, cn|2 will have a live NCAA Tournament Preview show that we are calling Destination Dallas. We’ll take an in depth look at the Cards, Cats and Colonels, we’ll hear from all the coaches and many of the players, and we’ll take your phone calls live. So join myself, along with Thomas Beisner, Mark Krebs and Mark Ennis. Destination Dallas is Sunday Night at 7pm, only on cn|2.
