UofL Head Football Coach Charlie Strong says no decision has been made yet on whether or not defensive end Lorenzo Mauldin will play in Sunday’s season opener against Ohio. Strong made the announcement during Tuesday night practice; just about 10 hours after Mauldin was involved in a hit and run moped accident on the UofL campus near the Yum training facility. UofL Athletic officials report Mauldin is in satisfactory condition after undergoing tests at Jewish Hospital. He is expected to be released from the hospital Wednesday. Strong says he will leave the decision about Mauldin and his role in this weekend’s game up to Mauldin’s doctor. Meanwhile, Strong says the ordeal will not be a distraction for the team.
