Nick Burdi is highest drafted UofL baseball player

Nick Burdi has become the highest drafted baseball player in Louisville Cardinals history. The right handed reliever was taken by the Minnesota twins in the second round of the Major League baseball draft, with the 46th overall pick. A finalist for the 2014 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award, Burdi is the Cardinals’ career saves leader with 32, including 16 this season. The Louisville All-American has a 3-1 record with a 0.54 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 28 relief appearances and 33.1 innings pitched this season.
