NFL | Titans Part Ways with Mike Mularkey

01/15/2018 10:48 AM

The Tennessee Titans announced on Monday morning that they have parted ways with head coach Mike Mularkey.

Mularkey had been the head coach of the Titans for the last two full seasons and part of the 2015 season. He went 20-21 during his tenure in Tennessee, including back-to-back 9-7 seasons.

“In fact, we did discuss extending his future with our team over the past week, but in those discussions about the direction of the team, it became evident that we saw different paths to achieve greater success,” said Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk in a statement.

The Titans advanced to the AFC playoffs this season, falling this past weekend in the AFC Divisional Round to the New England Patriots.

A press conference is expected to take place later on Monday.
