Former Ballard High School basketball player Kelan Martin is finding plenty of success at Butler.

In fact, the junior was named this week’s BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

Martin helped lead his No. 18 Butler Bulldogs to an 83-78 upset win over No. 9 Indiana on Saturday at the Crossroads Classic. Martin led all scorers in the game with 28 points after going 9-of-16 from the field.

So far this season, he is averaging 18.6 points per game, which leads the Bulldogs.

cn|2 Sports’ Andrew Chernoff caught up with Martin after Butler’s win over Indiana:
