N.C. State upsets 9th ranked Louisville

One game after combining for 50 points, UofL’s leading scorers Terry Rozier and Montrezl Harrell were shut down as the Cards suffered an upset loss to NC State, 74-65.
Rozier scored only seven points before fouling out midway through the second half and Harrell made only one of his five field goal attempts. It is the first time this season that UofL has lost a home game after leading at the half.
Shooting woes once again plagued the Cardinals, who shot only 33 percent from the field. Chris Jones led the UofL with 20 points. And after going through somewhat of a shooting slump and being limited in the previous game with a hip injury, Wayne Blackshear scored 19. NC State’s Cat Barber led all scorers with 21.
The loss against the Wolfpack will likely drop the Cards in next week’s top 25 poll. But after North Carolina’s surprising loss at Pitt, UofL remains in contention for a double-bye in the ACC Tournament.
Louisville is now 20-5 (8-4 ACC.) The Cards return to the court Wednesday at Syracuse. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
