NASCAR | Simendinger Looking Forward to Kentucky Speedway's Race Weekend

06/25/2017 11:00 AM

NASCAR is returning to the Bluegrass in less than two weeks.

Kentucky Speedway will host the series in early July at the 1.5-mile track in Sparta, Ky.

Track activity begins that week with NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice on Wednesday, July 5.

It all builds up to the three big races that weekend:

July 6 – NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Buckle Up in Your Truck 225 at 7:30 p.m. ET

July 7 – NASCAR Xfinity Series Alsco 300 at 8 p.m. ET

July 8 – Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Quaker State 400 at 7:30 p.m. ET

Kentucky Speedway general manager Mark Simendinger stopped by Sports Night this week. He spoke with Andrew Chernoff about race weekend and about a birthday celebration the track is hosting for the legendary Richard Petty.
