Number one Male continued their dominance in Class 6A football this week with a 63-0 blowout at Seneca. The Bulldogs got things started at the very beginning, when Marcus Clark ran it in for a 59-yard touchdown on a screen pass from quarterback Hayden Shelton. They then went on to score 23 more points in the first quarter alone. Seneca was grossly outmatched, gaining -11 yards of total offense to Male’s 383 yards.
Trinity, after a sound beating from Male last week, came back angry and took down undefeated Pleasure Ridge Park by a score of 44-0. After a heated defensive battle through the first six minutes of the game, it was Trinity’s defense who got on the board first when they sacked PRP quarterback Montae Robinson for a safety. They never let up, holding PRP to -15 yards of total offense in the game.
The Shamrocks’ offense then finally woke up, going on to 372 yards of total offense. Trinity quarterback Jake Woosley was a huge part of that, throwing for two touchdowns and rushing for a third. The remaining Trinity scores came as their backups got some playing time.
After losing to Louisville Central for the first time in history last week, St. X was also looking for revenge as they traveled to Northern Kentucky to defeat Class 5A Highlands 37-6.
The Tigers’ quarterback Desmond Ridder and receiver Blake Roshkowski showed their star power early, each scoring two touchdowns in a 20-point first quarter for St. X. Highlands was never able to get things going, scoring only one touchdown in the final quarter during which they were mostly playing against the Tigers’ relievers.
