Louisville swimmer receives top ACC honors

Louisville junior Kelsi Worrell has been named the 2015 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Swimming and Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Worrell headlines the 2015 All-ACC Academic Women’s Swimming and Diving Team. To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA during the academic career.

The New Jersey exercise science major earned two individual national championships in the 100 fly and 200 fly at the 2015 NCAA Championships, setting an American, NCAA and U.S. Open record with her 100 fly swim.

Worrell’s teammates Abigail Chin, Andrea Cottrell, Andrea Kneppers and Emily Stalmack join her on the All-ACC team.

Currently she is preparing to representing the USA in the Pan-Am games, taking place later this summer in Toronto.
