Louisville Soccer eyes National Championship

The Cardinals’ men’s soccer team is currently projected to win the ACC Atlantic Division, but they have set their personal goals much higher. The Cards believe they are serious contenders for a national title and have a stronger team this year than the team that excelled to the third round of the NCAA tournament last season.

They return sophomore defender/midfielder Tim Kuble who was recently named to TopDrawerSoccer’s Best XI First Team, and was ACC Freshman of the year last season. Also returning is senior midfielder Ben Strong who earned All-ACC honors last year, and junior Romilio Hernandez at midfield who started all 22 games for the Cardinals his sophomore season.

On Thursday, the Cards held their annual media day and the players said they are confident in themselves and in their coach who is already inspired by their work ethic.
