Louisville heads home after loss to Texas in Omaha

Although both teams were slow to start, scoreless in the first, the Cards could not pull out a victory against Texas in Omaha. The Cards lost 4-1 in a second-round elimination game.
Louisville’s errors and Texas’ pitching dominance were themes of Monday’s game. The Longhorns struck early with a run in the third, followed by two more in the fourth and fifth. The Cards gained ground with a run in the bottom of the eighth, but after Texas added an insurance run in the top of the 9th, the Cards could not complete the comeback.
UofL Sophomore pitcher Anthony Kidston was able to match a career-high with 8.0 innings.
