Louisville Headed To The ACC

11/28/2012 09:00 AM

The Atlantic Coast Conference voted to add the University of Louisville as its 14th member early this morning in a move that Rick Pitino told the Courier-Journal was “awesome”. The Cards will begin play in the conference next season.

The move may not be the last for the ACC either as reports circulate that the ultimate goal was to position the conference for a 16-team “super league” and that they could also have interest in UConn, Cincinnati, USF or Navy. According to reports, the Big 12 was also interested in the Cardinals before the ACC struck.

Be sure to watch cn|2 Sports tonight at 6:30 and 10:30 for reaction to the move from Chip Cosby and former Cardinal football star Joe Tronzo.
