Just one week into the college football season, the Louisville football team has made its way into the polls. Tuesday’s AP Top 25 slotted the Cards in the rankings’ final position, number 25, after the 31-13 win over Miami.
Despite some sloppy play early in the game, UofL caught stride and cruised to victory in the school’s ACC debut. Dominique Brown’s 33 carries for 143 yards and a touchdown paced the Cards. Quarterback Will Gardner was solid in his first start, completing 20-28 passes for 208 yards and two scores.
Louisville was not ranked in the USA Today Coaches, but the team was third among “others receiving votes.”
