Louisville City FC midfielder Niall McCabe was named the winner of the “USL Goal of the Week” on Thursday.

He received 57 percent of the fan poll that was conducted on the USL’s Web site.

“We have great fans,” said McCabe. “I guess I have a bigger family than I thought.”

The goal that was recognized was McCabe’s header in the 16th minute of LouCity’s match against FC Cincinnati on Saturday. LCFC ended up winning the match 5-0.

Spectrum News’ Andrew Chernoff caught up with McCabe on Thursday and asked him about what it meant to be recognized by the league and its fans:

McCabe and Louisville City FC are in action on Sunday against Bethlehem Steel FC. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. ET in Bethlehem, Pa.
