The magical run for Louisville City FC in the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup continues.

The Boys in Purple beat Nashville SC 2-1 on Wednesday night in front of nearly 4,500 fans inside Lynn Stadium to advance to the quarterfinal round of the tournament.

Paco Craig scored LouCity FC’s first goal of the match roughly halfway through the first half, before Paolo DelPiccolo put the Boys in Purple up 2-0 thanks to an early goal in the second half.

After the victory, LouCity FC Head Coach James O’Connor discussed what the win means for the club:

Up next for LouCity FC in the U.S. Open Cup will be a match at the Chicago Fire (MLS) on Wednesday, July 18. Kickoff is yet to be determined.

LouCity FC is not focused on the Chicago Fire just yet though as it will have multiple USL match-ups prior to its next U.S. Open Cup battle. The first USL match-up it will have to focus on is its game this Saturday at North Carolina FC at 7 p.m. ET.
