Louisville Basketball lose fifth straight in overtime thriller against Puerto Rico

08/13/2015 10:26 PM

The losing streak continues for UofL after the Puerto Rico national team comes from behind to win in overtime. Louisville was up 67-58 after three quarters but Puerto Rico tied the game with one minute left in regulation. The teams traded baskets in that final minute and ended regulation tied at 87-87.

In overtime, Louisville had lost a significant size advantage as Mangok, Mahmoud, and Spalding all fouled out of the game. Puerto Rico then took complete control and jumped out to a four point lead half way through OT. Ultimately, the extra time proved too much for the cards as they lost to Puerto Rico once again. The final score was 102-94.

Damien Lee again led the Cards in scoring, putting up 25 points in regulation. Chinanu Onuaku was also absent tonight after he appeared to elbow JJ Barea after last nights game.
