10/06/2015 09:00 AM

Louisville City FC took down the Charleston Battery Saturday night to advance to the USL eastern conference finals. The win over Charleston was the result of late game heroics by USL’s top scorer Matt fondy, who found the back of the net twice in the final 15 minutes of overtime. City will need the momentum from this emotional win to propel them into their match against top ranked Rochester this Saturday.

Louisville City’s success in their inaugural season is a testament to hard work on and off the field, and head coach James O’Connor attributes Saturday’s win to exceptional effort by his team, and outstanding support from the crowd.

The eastern finals this Saturday pit the USL’s highest rated offense, Louisville City FC, against the highest rated defense in the Rochester Rhinos. City will need a supreme effort by the whole club if the are going to pull out a win over a Rochester team that has only allowed 15 goals on the season. Rochester also heads into the game sporting just one loss.
