Kyle Funkhouser returns for Louisville Baseball

The University of Louisville Baseball team’s star right-hander will forgo Major League Baseball next season and return to UofL for his senior year. Kyle Funkhouser turned down the LA dodgers to put on the Red and Black of Louisville for one more season.

Funk, as he is known by his teammates, was the Cards ace last year, winning a school record 13 games and only suffering 3 losses. He finished the seaon with 122 strikeouts and a 1.94 ERA. He was also named first team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association. In addition to improving his draft stock, Funkhouser will earn his degree in his final year of college ball.

Garrett is a Sports Producer for Spectrum News. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State and got his start as a sports photographer.
