KSU FOOTBALL | Thorobreds Looking Forward to 2017 Season

08/09/2017 06:22 PM

The Kentucky St. football team is already practicing in preparation of its 2017 regular season.

Last year, the Thorobreds finished 4-7 overall, and made it to the SIAC Championship Game, where they fell 33-30 to Fort Valley St. University.

This year, they are hoping to make it back to the conference title game, and win it.

KSU head coach John L. Smith, who is entering his second season with the team, says he hopes last year’s loss in the conference title game is used as motivation for this year’s team:

One of the key players to keep an eye on in 2017 is quarterback Paul Campbell. Campbell played for Iowa Central Community College last year.

The Thorobreds open the season on Saturday, September 2 at home against Slippery Rock University. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m. ET inside Alumni Stadium.
