KENTUCKY DERBY | Living out Lynn Whiting's legacy

05/04/2017 05:12 PM

Lynn Whiting was a staple of the stables on the backside of Churchill Down. He had over 1,200 wins in his career as a trainer, one of them being the 1992 Kentucky Derby.

Whiting passed away in April of this year. This Derby marks the 25th anniversary of when his horse, Lil E. Tee won the garland of roses. More than one single race however, Lynn Whiting’s legacy lives on at Churchill Downs through the people that knew him best.

Lynn Whiting will undoubtedly be missed at Churchill Downs, and his friends will be quick to share their memories of the late horsemen.
