KENTUCKY DERBY | A deeper look at Derby 142 contenders

We are two weeks out form the 142nd Run for the Roses, and the field is starting to take shape. Many of the horses in this year’s field are already on the grounds of Churchill Downs and at nearby Lexington track, Keeneland.

We had an opportunity to speak with a man seen his fair-share of Kentucky Derbies, and is an integral part of making the show run smoothly. John Asher is the Vice President of Racing Communications at Churchill Downs, and we had the opportunity to talk about this year’s Derby contenders.

Garrett Moore

Garrett is a Sports Producer for Spectrum News. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State and got his start as a sports photographer. He now produces Sports Night, the state’s only nightly show dedicated to in-depth coverage of all sports in Kentucky. Outside the station, Garrett enjoys golfing, hiking, fishing, and prides himself on being all-in as a sports spectator.
