Goshen native and professional golfer Justin Thomas earned some praise from his peers this week. Fellow PGA members voted Thomas the 2017 PGA Tour Player of the Year.

The 24 year Kentuckian won five tournaments, claimed his first major victory in the PGA Championship, captured the FedEx Cup, and was a member of the U.S. team in its recent win over the international squad in the President’s Cup. ON top of that, Thomas also set the tour’s 72-hole scoring scoring record in the Sony Open.

The PGA tour does not release the vote totals. Other golfers on the ballot included Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson and Hideki Matsuyama.
