It's only June but Andy Dalton looks sharp

After two weeks of OTAs, the Bengals kicked off their mandatory minicamp today… the only difference being that it is mandatory. This is actually not much different for the Bengals, as all but Jermaine Gresham and Devon Still attended OTAs.
After talking with players in the locker room, hearing from Andy Dalton and Marvin Lewis in press conferences and watching practice, here are 3 takeaways from Day 1 of minicamp:
1. Don’t worry about Leon Hall or Geno Atkins. “If we’re lining up to start training camp tomorrow, Leon would be lining up to start training camp tomorrow” said head coach Marvin Lewis. Hall’s rehab has progressed and he was at practice today but doing agility drills on the sideline. Atkins still has to go through the process of recovery but Lewis said he’s not concerned about Geno being ready to go Week 1.
2. Yes, it’s only June but Andy Dalton looks good. There has been talk this offseason amongst his teammates that Dalton was throwing the ball better. Despite two open OTAs, we had yet to really see it. He didn’t look bad, but not better. Today, Dalton looked sharp. The ball came out quicker and he had a couple of nice deep balls to A.J. Green (who also looked great, by the way).
3. We had a Jermaine Gresham sighting. Gresham was notably absent from OTAs the past two weeks and wasn’t even seen around the stadium. Take a deep breath Bengals fans… because Gresham made an appearance in the locker room and on the field today, although he did not participate. Lewis said he’s working through an injury but should be ready for training camp.
