H.S. SOFTBALL | Oldham County with Impressive Offensive Numbers

05/04/2017 11:15 AM

The Oldham County softball team has been scoring runs by the boatload this season.

Heading into Wednesday evening, the Lady Colonels were averaging over 13 runs per game.

“Our offense is really the key for our team this year,” said head coach Steve Leanhart.

Everyone is contributing to the success as well. In fact, three of the Lady Colonels are batting better than .500 on the season.

“I think it’s really impressive how we can hit all the way through our lineup,” said Oldham County’s Elana Ornelas. “And we’re getting runs in and making contact with the ball.”

As a result of their success, the Lady Colonels have been named our Spectrum News’ “High School Team of the Week.”
