H.S. GIRLS SOCCER | Lexington Catholic, West Jessamine To Play for State Title

The Lexington Catholic girls soccer team will play West Jessamine for the KHSAA state championship after both teams won their respective semifinal round games on Wednesday night.

Lexington Catholic won 2-1 over Owensboro Catholic. Owensboro Catholic scored the first goal of the game, but Lexington Catholic came back to earn the one goal victory. The deciding goal was actually an own goal coming early in the second half.

Meanwhile, West Jessamine won a thriller against Simon Kenton in their semifinal round match-up. Both teams had no goals by the end of the second overtime period, but in PKs, West Jessamine won 4-3.

Lexington Catholic and West Jessamine will play each other on Saturday at Bryan Station High School in Lexington. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. ET.
