H.S. FOOTBALL | Trinity vs. St. X Showdown Friday Night

09/28/2016 07:02 PM

One of Kentucky’s biggest high school football rivalry games takes place this Friday night.

6A #1 Louisville Trinity (6-0) faces 6A #6 Louisville St. X (4-1) at 8 p.m. ET Friday inside Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

Trinity has had the advantage in the rivalry as of late. The Shamrocks have won ten of the past 11 meetings (regular season and postseason) between the two schools.

The last time St. X won “The Game” was during the 2014 regular season.

To help get fans ready for the annual football match-up, the two schools hosted their 9th annual “Salute to the Game Luncheon” on Wednesday inside Louisville’s Galt House Hotel.

The luncheon featured former college football head coaching legend Howard Schnellenberger as the keynote speaker.

All money raised during the luncheon go to the Catholic Education Foundation.
