HS FOOTBALL | Trinity vs Saint X has a history of breakout stars

10/01/2015 04:47 PM

The cross-town catholic rivalry between Trinity and Saint X continues this weekend as the two teams face off Friday night in Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

Both teams enter the game sporting single losses and are each in the familiar position of being one of the top 10 teams in the state. The Shamrocks lone loss came from top ranked Male High School, and the Tigers fell to the Central Yellowjackets in week three. This is the eminent rivalry in Kentucky high school sports, and the Courier-journal’s Jason Frakes expects the game to draw the typical tens of thousands in attendance.

Frakes also expects to see is a close game, and told cn2 Sports about how this rivalry seems to produce an unexpected breakout star every year.

Trinity vs Saint X is just one High School Game of the Week this week, we also got Jason’s takes on a Lexington matchup of top-10 teams: Bryan Stations vs Lafayette.
